4 November 2013
|

Gerald Clark’s Nakba - A Master Peace For Palestine
2 November 2013
|
The other day I learned that Gerald Clark, pretty much an unfamiliar name to me, was about to launch a Jazz suite dedicated to the Nakba and the Palestinian people. I was intrigued, I contacted Gerald and offered my help. A day later, the album found its way to my letterbox.

25 October 2013

A report from an ex-Member of the Israeli Knesset yesterday claimed that during a meeting in the British Houses of Parliament, former Foreign Secretary and Home Secretary Jack Straw (Lab) ‘peddled an anti-Semitic’ trope about Jewish control over U.S. and Germany foreign policy.

Abunimah, Rosenberg, Anti-semitism and Dishonesty
16 October 2013
|
In the last few days blogger M. Jay Rosenberg came to the conclusion that Electronic Ali Abunimah is an anti-semite. Rosenberg’s accusation is clearly unsubstantiated. Ali Abunimah is not an anti-semite. Dishonest? More likely.

Avigdor Lieberman: "Israel should attack Iran alone"
30 September 2013
|
In a post on his Facebook page, Avigdor Lieberman, the former Israeli foreign minister projects his deceitful symptoms upon the Iranian president: "Now, when the world’s attention is focused on the new Iranian president’s attempts to appear moderate and conciliatory, it is worth noting that the Iranians have long employed a pattern of deceit: various promise tactics, stalling and feeding the international community with false information time and time again, all the while pursuing their goal of obtaining a nuclear weapon, meant to threaten world peace."

Now’s The Time To Strip Israel of its WMDs
26 September 2013
|
The Israelis are not very impressed with Hassan Rouhani, the new Iranian president. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu ordered Israel’s delegation to boycott his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday and later denounced Rouhani’s address there as “a cynical speech that was full of hypocrisy.”

How Shlomo Sand Ceased to be a Jew – or Did He?
23 September 2013
|
Sand’s latest book, How I Ceased To Be A Jew, (translated from Hebrew) is a tragic testimony made by a morally awakened Israeli Jew who comes to realise that his spiritual, cultural and political existence is contaminated with Judeo-centric exclusivism and is fuelled by ethno-centric racism. Shlomo Sand decides to stop being a Jew – but has he succeeded?

Yom Kippur, War and the Power Of Deterrence
15 September 2013
|
Today is Yom Kippur and the 40th anniversary of the 1973 Arab–Israeli (Yom Kippur) War. That war caught Israel totally on the hop. In the first days of the conflict, both the IDF and the IAF were defeated and humiliated. Moshe Dayan, the legendary Israeli defence minister, contemplated out loud the ‘destruction of the 3rd Temple’ and, according to different intelligence sources, Israel was close to using its ‘Samson option’ - a nuclear strike against Egypt.

Paul Jay: Portrait of an Anti-Zionist Zionist
5 September 2013
|
A few weeks ago some of us were rather amused to see Max Blumenthal, in conversation with Paul Jay (The Real News Network), deliver the usual anti-Zionist Zionist (AZZ) spiel. After the program many Palestinian solidarity and anti-war commentators were outraged and demanded that Jay provide me with a right to reply. So Jay approached me, asked to clarify a few issues and promised to come back to me shortly with an answer. I didn’t hold my breath because since the incident I had learned a little about Jay’s political affiliations and motivations.

Hot of the Press: Britain sold nerve gas chemicals to Syria
3 September 2013
|
If you want to know why PM Cameron was keen to launch an immediate attack on Syria while the UN mission was still collecting evidence on the ground, but then was very quick to scrap the idea all together, dailyrecord.co.uk provides the answer. Britain and Cameron’s government may as well be complicit in the unfolding tragedy.

Gilad Atzmon: Obama ‘confused’ about possible attack on Syria
30 August 2013

Western Democracies And Criminal Interventionism
29 August 2013
|
It doesn’t take a genius to grasp that the American president doesn’t really want to attack Syria. He doesn’t want to topple Assad’s regime - He doesn’t have an alternative partner on the ground. Instead of ‘Shock and Awe’ this time the Pentagon is talking about ‘surgical attack’. The English speaking empire, famous for its destructive inclinations, makes the potential attack on Syria sound like a ‘cosmetic effort’.

Max Blumenthal on Anti Semitism, Neo Fascists and Gilad Atzmon (Amusing As Well As Tragic)
23 August 2013
|
The campaign against me and my work fell apart a while ago. I assume that my Jewish detractors came to realise that I enjoy their attention and use it to affirm my criticism of their tribal and exclusivist identity politics. But yesterday I had a nostalgic moment reading Max Blumenthal dissing me publicly.

OBAMA, THE ARABS AND ISRAEL IN JUST ONE PARAGRAPH
22 August 2013
|
It is hard to believe how little is left of Obama’s superb Cairo speech. In a relatively short time, the American administration has managed to fall into every possible trap. It is now affiliated as well as conflicting with Al-Qaeda (assuming there is such a thing), Wahhabi war-mongers, Salafist terrorists, the Muslim Brotherhood and their enemies - the Arab seculars and nationalist revolutionary forces. They all despise America equally. It indeed takes some talent to mess things up that badly.
BBC Persia / Gilad Atzmon Hardtalk- The Transcription
9 August 2013
|
I have transcribed most of the interview, to save others half an hour video watching and chronicle an interesting conversation on the... BBC! I am mostly disenchanted with my UK BBC service, yet this BBC Persia programme is worthwhile. However you deem jazz musician Gilad Atzmon, he is courageous and a recognised profile figure on the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

Israel/Palestine and the Queer International
7 August 2013
|
Israel/Palestine and the Queer International, a new book by writer/professor Sarah Schulman, tells the story of Schulman’s transformation from a “Jewish, lesbian New Yorker” into a “Cosmopolitan queer and avid BDS [*] advocate.” Her book is a must read—and not because it offers original ideological or political outlook, not at all. Schulman actually provides us with a unique and invaluable window into Jewish secular progressive thought. It unveils the structure of LGBT [**] politics and its operation within the Palestinian solidarity movement.

Gilad Atzmon/Reem Kelani song
11 July 2013
|
Gilad Atzmon, is an anti-Zionist Jew who was raised in Israel. The song, ’Dal’ouna on the Return’ is from his album ’Exile’ which he made as a political statement about Palestinian suffering and his belief in their right of return. It is sung by Palestinian singer Reem Kelani, whose haunting, mournful voice opens the album
