Israeli savagery
“The injured were lying there asking God to let them die”
30 December 2008 | We reproduce here the terrible testimony, published on The Guardian, of Mr. Fikr Shaltoot - programme coordinator for Medical Aid for Palestinians, a British non-governmental organisation that provides medical supplies in Gaza - about the victims that he sees arriving at the Shifa hospital in Gaza.

A Call by the Palestinian Civil Society
"Stop the Massacre in Gaza – Boycott Israel Now!"
27 December 2008 | Today, the Israeli occupation army committed a new massacre in Gaza, causing the death and injury of hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including a yet unknown number of school children who were headed home from school when the first Israeli military strikes started. This latest bloodbath, although far more ruthless than all its predecessors, is not Israel’s first. It culminates months of an Israeli siege of Gaza that should be widely condemned and prosecuted as an act of genocide against the 1.5 million Palestinians in the occupied coastal strip.

Call by the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee
L’Oreal: Makeup for Israeli Apartheid!
23 December 2008 | In this holiday season, the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee, BNC (*), calls upon people of conscience all over the world to boycott all the products of the French cosmetics giant, L’Oreal (**), due to its deep and extensive involvement in business relations with Israel, despite the latter’s continued occupation and apartheid policies against the indigenous Palestinian people.

Israeli provocation
Richard Falk: My expulsion from Israel
19 December 2008 | When I arrived in Israel as a UN representative I knew there might be problems at the airport. And there were. On December 14, I arrived at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, Israel to carry out my UN role as special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories. I was leading a mission that had intended to visit the West Bank and Gaza to prepare a report on Israel’s compliance with human rights standards and international humanitarian law. Meetings had been scheduled on an hourly basis during the six days, starting with Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, the following day.

Right of return of the refugees
Khalid Amayreh: Bottom of the bottom
5 December 2008 | The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) has strongly denounced a recent conference on the plight of Palestinian refugees held in the Syrian capital, Damascus, organised by a coalition of factions and figures dedicated to the right of return, which according to organisers — amongst them Hamas — is the heart and soul of the Palestinian problem.

Israeli Apartheid
Palestinian Civil Society Strategic Position Paper Towards the UN Durban Review Conference
29 November 2008 | Hundreds of international civil society organizations and networks endorse the Position Paper titled “United Against Apartheid, Colonialism and Occupation: Dignity & Justice for the Palestinian People” on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

Tsahal allows the torture of children
12 year old: Beaten and imprisoned with adults
10 November 2008 | As painful as this story is, it is nothing out of the ordinary for Israeli soldiers acting with total impunity, with a colluding "justice" system that condones and allows torture and an overwhelming majority of Israeli-Jews defending such crimes under the pretence of "security" or looking the other way in nauseating apathy.

PCAS issues new detailed report on Gaza’s suffocating siege
The Drastic Consequences of Gaza Siege
21 October 2008 | "If anyone still has a shred of a doubt whether current UN Special Rapporteur Richard Falk’s prescient description of Israel’s siege of Gaza as a "prelude to genocide" was an overstatement, please read the report below and decide for yourself". Omar Barghouti.

What is wrong with PFLP?
16 October 2008 | The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) is not what it used to be. Today the organization which produced Laila Khalid, George Habash and many other luminaries in the skies of the Palestinian struggle for freedom and justice is functioning very much like a hanger-on vis-à-vis the American backed Palestinian Authority (PA).

Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel
Paul McCartney Embraces Israeli Apartheid
15 September 2008 | PACBI regrets Paul McCartney’s insistence on going ahead with his planned gig in Israel despite many appeals to him to cancel it (*) due to Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians, particularly its current brutally devastating and illegal siege of 1.5 million in occupied Gaza.

Israelis hinder academic pursuits in Gaza
5 September 2008 | Not many people in the Gaza Strip spend their time thinking about Utah’s Great Salt Lake. I have been dreaming of it for months. This year, I was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to the University of Utah to study in the department of civil and environmental engineering. Palestinians in Gaza suffer from critical water and environmental contamination problems. I planned to focus my Utah education on water resources and environmental engineering so that I could return home and help to alleviate these problems. But I will not be attending this fall. On the basis of secret evidence conveyed by the Israeli government, my American visa was canceled.

Resisting the Nakba
15 May 2008 | The viciousness of Israel is testament to its knowing that Palestinians will always remain steadfast and defeat its past and present attempts to erase them, writes Joseph Massad.

30 March 2008 | This text is an “Appeal to International Civil Society” signed by many Palestinian civil society organizations.

The Gaza Bombshell
3 March 2008 | After failing to anticipate Hamas’s victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, the author reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.
